This is a perfect stick for teaching and learning how and where the fulcrum should be. The stick wood itself is a little to light and as such it doesn't rebound as much as I would like (to really drive home the concept of getting the rebound out of the stick as much as possible in the beginning). I would definitely purchase just the 'hinge' element and put them on sticks that I use, if that were possible.
Hingestix are incredible and so is the inventor, Sam Ruttenberg. I had an issue with shipping and reached out to him, and he immediately responded and helped me all the way. I now have my sticks, and they are awesome. I bought them to help me with my rolls, and that they have done, even in a very short period of time. I highly recommend these sticks for drummers at all levels.
I was skeptical at first. They arrived yesterday. I couldn’t be more happier with them. Wish I had them during my younger days of playing drums. They feel great! I can actually feel the muscles that have lacked training working. Great product for any drummer!
