Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned pro, this book has something for everyone.

It’s also a great guide for drum teachers to help in their own teaching!!

Here's a sample page I call THE WHOLE PACKAGE...preparing for an accented stroke.

The most practical way to play accents includes use of the wrists, arm, elbow, and shoulder.  I call this “the whole package” because it incorporates all aspects of motion.  The motion should be as if you were cracking a whip or throwing a baseball.  The pictures below show the initial drop caused by the wrist coming up first and then the stick coming up.

Upward motion of wrist causes tip of the stick to "inadvertently" hit the drum surface

The next pictures show the motion as the stick comes back, and finally the throw down to the drum.  Remember to hold your sticks loosely.

This is the most relaxed way to play because all parts of your limb are working together.  If you’re just using one part (like your wrist or arm), you lock yourself in and don’t get the full benefit that you could.  These motions are of course minimized when you’re playing softer, but the principles remain the same.

This is only one out of many invaluable concepts, methods, lessons, and exercises you will have at your disposal, if you order your copy today.
